Committee to hold ENDA vote by Hannah Clay Wareham
Associate EditorFriday Nov 13, 2009 The House Education and Labor Committee will vote on the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) on Wednesday, Nov. 18, in Washington, D.C.
ENDA, or H.R. 3017, if passed, would prohibit employee discrimination (including firings) on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity. Reps. Barney Frank (D-MA) and Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL) introduced the bill this year. It has been introduced in every session of Congress -- except for the 109th -- since 1994.
