Stop by the World AIDS Day breakfast at White’s of Westport, 66 State Road, Westport, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. to hear about current HIV and hepatitis C treatment options. Register online at www.paaca.org.
Purchase a ’Red Ribbon’ bagel at any of the twenty-three Boston area Bruegger’s Bagels locations to observe World AIDS Day and kick off fundraising for the 25th AIDS Walk Boston in June 2010. Bruegger’s will proudly donate 50 cents from every ’Red Ribbon’ bagel purchase to support AIDS Action Committee.
Boston restaurants are raising awareness and much-needed funds in honor of World AIDS Day. Ask your server about the World AIDS Day special drink or dish. (Participating restaurants: Myers + Chang, OM Restaurant, Aquitaine Boston, Gaslight Brasserie du Coin, Metropolis Café, Union Bar and Grille, Trina’s Starlite Lounge).

Medicine Wheel is the largest recurring site-specific public art event in Boston with an 18-year history and an annual 24-hour vigil of prayer, dance, song and ritual attended by thousands of individuals and artists. The installation is a Cyclorama Residency at the Boston Center for the Arts. Medicine Wheel also works in collaboration with AIDS Action Committee of Boston, MA. Vigil and 24 hour access begins on Monday, 11/30 at 10 p.m. at the Boston Center for the Arts, 539 Tremont Street.
Drop by the AIDS Foundation of Western Massachusetts office any time 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Activities include snacks, film, open mic, giveaways, educational materials, the creation of a memory book (bring a photo or poem or note about someone lost to AIDS), and more. The Presenting Late to Care: Changing the Dynamics Conference will be held at UMASS Boston, 100 William T Morrissey Blvd. from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The conference will bring together the greater Boston community of clinical providers, administrators, policy makers, community leaders and people living with HIV (PLWHIV) to examine the complex issues involved in addressing the Late to Care phenomenon that is deeply rooted in the minority and immigrant populations in Massachusetts. The program will discuss the roots of this critical issue and develop ways to continue to build bridges between the health care system and the community in order to disseminate the message that "everyone should know their HIV status" and promote the idea of routine HIV testing. The program will also provide an update on state of the art HIV treatment. Improving access, increasing HIV testing and providing early treatment will have a significant impact on quality of life and overall long-term survival. To register online, visit www.neaetc.org.

The Worcester YWCA, 1 Salem Square, Worcester, will be hosting a Universal Access and Human Rights event from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event will include a guest speaker, HIV 101 workshop, live entertainment, FREE anonymous HIV counseling and testing, and dinner. This event is free and all are welcome to attend.
The organizers of Harbor to the Bay, an AIDS benefit bike ride from Boston to Provincetown, will present this year’s checks to beneficiary organizations, including AIDS Action Committee. Organizers look forward to recognizing the amazing contributions made to this year’s event. Visit Club Café, 209 Columbus Ave., at 6:30 p.m.
A candlelight walk will start at 6:30 p.m. in downtown Lynn. Services at St. Stephen’s Church will follow at 7 p.m., concluding around 8:30 p.m. Refreshments will be provided. Sponsored by Project Cope, Inc.; Girls, Inc.; CAB Health and Recovery Services, Inc.; Lynn Community Health Center; HES Gay and Bi Men’s Health Program; St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church; and Lynn Classical High School. The walk starts at Lynn City Hall, 3 City Hall Square, Lynn and ends at St. Stephens Church, 74 South Common Street, Lynn.
Drifting Closer: A Town Hall on Black Men’s Health and Healing, to be moderated by Paul Glass from Fenway Community Health and featuring keynote speaker, author Kai Wright (Drifting Toward Love / Beacon Press), will be held at City Year, 287 Columbus Avenue at 6 p.m. Hosted by Cambridge Cares About AIDS, The MALE Center, and MOCCA.

On World AIDS Day, Harbor Health Services will have free, anonymous, walk-in HIV counseling and testing available at two of our sites. If individuals come in to get tested at either site they will enter in a raffle for a $50 gift certificate to Best Buy! The drawing for the raffle will take place on December 2nd! Visit either Neponset Health Center, 398 Neponset Ave, Dorchester, or Geiger Gibson Community Health Center, 250 Mount Vernon Street, Dorchester from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
In commemoration of World AIDS Day, Fenway Health will offer free, walk-in HIV counseling, testing, and referrals on Wednesday, December 2nd. Tests and services available include rapid and serum HIV antibody testing, Hepatitis A & B vaccinations, Hepatitis B & C testing, and free shoulder massages and snacks.
