I am a gay, legally married man who worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for 23 years, and am now retired. I met with Representative Michlewitz a while ago, and suggested to him the possibility of filing this legislation. He agreed with the injustice of legally married gay people paying extra Federal income tax (in my case about $2,000 of extra tax each year), and I am extremely grateful he has decided to lead this effort in the state legislature to remedy this injustice.
