I thank decorated Vietnam veteran, Pat Scanlon, for his "vision" of full equality for GLBT people, via "Veterans for Peace" who marched in the St. Patrick's Day Parade in South Boson on March 17, 2013; along with a host of other progressive social organizations—including a GLBT contingent.
And, I also thank my dear friend, Vietnam Veteran, Janice Josephine Carney for her courage as a Transgender woman to "stand her ground" from the oppression of her detractors from within the larger Gay Community and heterosexual people; and for her decades of advocacy on behalf of GLBT people and military veterans.
I salute both Pat Scanion and Janice Josephine Carney for their honorable and distinguished service to America during the Vietnam War.
And lastly, my many thanks to all the members of the Gay & Lesbian Irish Bisexual Organization, (GLIB) for sharing the awesome "journey" with all of you 20 years ago.
Visibility is key for social justice for oppressed and marginalized people.
