State Street recognized for Building an Inclusive Environment program

Investment firm takes home honor from 2012 Diversity and Leadership in Financial Services Awards.

State Street was honored at the 2012 Diversity and Leadership in Financial Services Awards, winning “Program or Initiative of the Year” for its Building an Inclusive Environment program. This award recognizes an exemplary program or initiative that was developed to improve the lives and opportunities of internal and/or external stakeholders.

The Building an Inclusive Environment program includes two modules, an e-learning training, “WISE: Working Inclusively Supports Excellence,” and a webinar, “Great Minds Don’t Think Alike…Being Conscious of Your Unconscious Bias.” These modules provide insight on how to overcome challenges in the workplace and how to change employee behaviors to generate business results.

In 2011, State Street hosted 18 “Great Minds Don’t Think Alike…Being Conscious of Your Unconscious Basis” sessions with more than 600 employees around the world including our senior management population. The “WISE: Working Inclusively Supports Excellence,” e-learning training had participation from more than 1,800 employees across the company.

Building an Inclusive Environment is part of State Street’s company-wide Global Inclusion initiative that seeks to ensure a work environment where employees feel valued and engaged.
