SCOTUS will hear arguments next Wednesday

The United States Supreme Court will hear arguments March 27 against the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) in Windsor v. United States brought by our colleagues at the ACLU and Paul | Weiss.

The Court will also consider the constitutionality of California's Proposition 8, which took away the right of same-sex couples in the state to marry. Arguments in the Prop 8 case will be heard March 26.

GLAD coordinated the amicus strategy for the DOMA case at the Supreme Court, and those briefs, as well as party briefs, can be found at http://www.glad.org/documents

GLAD's two challenges to DOMA, Gill v. OPM and Pedersen v. OPM, are being held pending a ruling in Windsor.
