I'm back for my second year running the 2013 Boston Marathon for the American Liver Foundation's Run for Research Team.
My experience with the Liver Team last year was incredible. From training, to the actual race day... the friends, teammates, and patient families I met were inspiring and reminded me why I train hard and work to raise money and awareness for this important research.
So, as a charity runner, I've committed to raising money for the American Liver Foundation. I not only get to meet amazing people through the ALF, but I also get to run one of the world's most prestigious marathons.
In addition to your moral support and positive thoughts, I'm also asking for your help in a different way...
Help me to help 30 million Americans.
Every step I take and every dollar I raise will make a difference in the lives of more than 30 million Americans living with liver disease.
Did you know:
-
Liver cancer is one of the few primary cancers on the rise in the United States.
-
Approximately 5.4 million Americans are chronically infected with hepatitis B or hepatitis C. About 65% and 75% , respectively, are unaware that they are infected.
-
It is estimated that up to 25% of the U.S. population could have Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease--a condition that can lead to life-threatening damage.
By making a donation on my behalf, you will be helping the Foundation provide community-based education, research, support, and advocacy related to help prevent and treat liver disease. Together we can make a difference and it's as simple as helping me reach my fundraising goal.
Donating is easy! Just click the "Sponsor Me" button to get started. Thanks for all your support!
Donations can be made right through my personal donation page: http://go.liverfoundation.org/goto/jlawrence
Or checks can be made out to the American Liver Foundation (with my name, Jennifer Lawrence, on the memo line) and sent to The American Liver Foundation 88 Winchester St. Newton, MA 02461.
