The Massachusetts Transgender Political Coalition (MTPC) on Sept. 20 celebrated the release of four new videos in the "I AM: Transgender People Speak" multimedia public education campaign.
The four new videos, in honor of the back-to-school fall season, share the theme of learning. Participants speakers include Justice Williams, a self-declared poet, activist, and "lover of all people"; Gina Sage, a union elevator constructor, a parent, and a dog owner who transitioned after losing her partner; Chris, a biological parent of two teenage sons, spouse, and white ally whose transition affected his family dynamics; and a joint video featuring Jean, the longtime partner of Chris, a transman interviewed in another premiering video, and Seth, one of their two teenage sons.
All four new videos were filmed and edited by Jesse Begenyi, a Boston filmmaker. Begenyi and MTPC plan on uploading new videos to the website periodically and are always looking for participants. To view all the videos and learn more about the project, please visit www.transpeoplespeak.org.
