A Vermont inn accused of refusing to host a lesbian couple's wedding reception has been ordered to turn over more information about its operations.
A judge granted the American Civil Liberties Union's request regarding the Wildflower Inn in Lyndonville.
The Caledonian-Record reports the information was requested on behalf of a lesbian couple who sued the inn after their request to have their wedding reception there was denied.
The request includes names and contact information of anyone serving as wedding or events director during the past 10 years; and messages related to requests by same-sex couples to have special events there.
Inn owners Mary and Jim O'Reilly say many of their guests have been same-sex couples. However, they don't feel they can offer personal services “wholeheartedly” to celebrate same-sex marriages.
