John (Jack) Regan, 1959 - 2011.

With great sadness we announce the death of John Regan at age 52, on Nov. 11, 2011.

Raised in South Boston, Jack made his home in Bedford where he raised his sons Benjamin and Griffin. Prior to starting his own management advisory firm, Metis Consulting Group, he served as a Senior Consultant at Interaction Associates, and a Financial Manager at GTE Corporation. He was particularly proud of his work helping such nonprofits as MassEquality, the AIDS Action Committee, and Fenway Health. MassEquality Education Fund Board Chair Sue Hyde said, "Jack Regan led MassEquality through its organizational assessment early in 2008 that resulted in MassEquality’s transition to a statewide LGBT advocacy organization focused on multiple goals to improve our lives. With wit, smarts and compassion, Jack steered the planning process, winning the confidence of both members of the Boards of Directors and the staff. MassEquality would not be what it is today without Jack’s firm and loving hands on the wheel."

In addition to his sons, Jack leaves Brian Sarr, his father Buddy of South Boston, his brothers Buddy and wife Joan of Milton, Barry and wife Cathy of East Sandwich, and Brian of Norwood, as well as over 20 nieces and nephews and many loving friends, especially Gail Black Smith who has been constant in her attention and devotion. A Service celebrating his life will be held on Sunday, Nov. 20, at 3 p.m. at First Parish, 75 Great Road, in Bedford. A reception will follow. Memorial donations may be made to The Jack Regan Memorial Fund at First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church.
