28th Annual Boston LGBT Film Festival
The Boston LGBT Film Festival kicks off May 3rd and runs through May 13th. This year’s Signature Events are the highlight of springtime. The films are stellar and the after parties will be bumpin’—so come join us on the red carpet. Below are just a few of the special events.

Thursday, May 3rd, Opening NightParty:
The opening party for the Festival is tonight —so no excuses—eave your office promptly at 6:30 and come for the drinks and a hilarious Italian hit film with plenty of hot Italian men.

Friday, May 4th. LGBT Senior Lunch at Club Café:

Women’s Opening Night and After-Party:
Come to the MFA and experience Mosquita Y Mari, a love story about two hot Chicanas falling in love in innercity Los Angeles. Writer-Director Aurora Guerrero will be in attendance. Museum of Fine Arts, 465 Huntington Street, Boston.
After-Party: 10 p.m.-2 a.m. Join Kristen Porter’s Dyke Night party Venus Rising @ The Foundation Room at the House of Blues After Party for Women’s Opening Night. House of Blues, 120 Landsdowne Street, Boston.
Men’s Opening Night and After-Party Come cruise this opening night and see two movies about love, lust, and, of course, hot men. The movie August is a unique look at a love triangle between three men. After the movie, go to the after-party at Casablanca Restaurant for drinks and free apps with the hot lead actor, Murray Bartlett.
Finish the night with our late night screening of In their Room/ Berlin, that looks at gay men, bedrooms, sex and intimacy. The film veers into the bedrooms of eight different men where you see them doing everything from the most banal to the most erotic. Complimenting the revealing nature of their everyday activities are confessional interviews about fantasies, turn ons and vulnerabilities. Brattle Theatre, 40 Brattle Street, Cambridge.

Saturday, May 5, Gay Marriage Battles. Come to the ICA for a stirring documentary about the Question 1 campaign in Maine. Question One, chronicles the fierce and emotional battle that took place in Maine during that time. The film chronicles in War Room fashion the behind the scenes workings on BOTH sides of the campaign.The filmmakers capture the private thoughts, insights, fears and conflicts expressed by key leaders as they crafted and created their messages and strategies. Sunday, May 6, See Olympis Dukakis as a butch lesbian and Brenda Fricker as her longtime lover in Cloudburst, a dramady film by director Thom Fitzgerald who will be in attendance to discuss the film. Museum of Fine Arts, 465 Huntington Street, Boston 7 p.m.
Monday, May 7,Love Free or Die, a documentary about Bishop Gene Robinson and the Episcopal Church’s struggle . Following the screening, there will be a religion panel discussion. Wednesday, May 9, Sci-fi Night and Reception YES! Gay and Sci-Fi together. Come see Outland, a hilarious Australian comedy TV show that revolves around a gay science fiction club—followed by a reception at Casablanca.Brattle Theatre, 40 Brattle Street, Cambridge

Friday, May 11,Rock & Roll junkies, disco queens, cowboys and cowgirls unite in a two film series of groundbreaking queers in country music and disco. Wish Me Away is a documentary about country music start Chely Wright and her coming out struggles in country music. This won the Documentary Film award at the Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Philadelphia LGBT film festivals. Jobriath AD, details the short-lived reign of the first openly gay rock star, the cult glam rocker Jobriath, His brief but fascinating career as an openly gayperformer, sometimes called ‘the American Bowie’ is uncovered by this pioneering documentary which has a wealth of archive footage.
