Union United Methodist Church
485 Columbus Avenue
Boston, MA 02118
GLAD is pleased to host our annual Spirit of Justice Community Event, featuring this year's Honoree, Revered Irene Monroe.
Reverend Monroe will examine the role religion plays in discrimination against lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people, and how such religious intolerance not only shatters the goal of American democracy, but also aids in perpetuating other forms of oppression such as racism, sexism, classism and anti-Semitism.
We will also enjoy performances from Letta Neely, award-winning black lesbian poet, playwright, and activist; and the Union United Methodist Church choir.
This event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
